ISLAMIC, Persia (Pre-Seljuq). Tahirids. Talha ibn Tahir, AH 207-213 / AD 822–828. Fals (Bronze, 19 mm, 1.67 g, 1 h), citing the Tahirid ruler Talha ibn Tahir, Bust (Lashkar Gah), AH 209 = AD 824/5. In inner field, Kalima; in outer marin, mint and date. Rev. Sasanian style bust to right'; before, 'Talha' in Kufic; in outer margin, names and titles of Talha ibn Tahir. Album 1394. An attractive example with fully readable legends. Very fine.
